Utopian workshops made just for you

I offer different kinds of workshops dependent upon your interests and needs.

They take place in a physical setting or online. They tend to last three hours, though many combine with other ones and can last from one day to a week.

How about you get in touch so we can discuss the best way for me to meet your needs?

Here you can find a list of the workshop areas I work with:

Utopian political education

“It’s the economy, stupid” - James Carville

This is the building block for any good future.  We need to develop economic competences, hence my strong focus on helping you to answer the question - which political economy do we want?  These workshops address many issues and afterwards you’ll have a better idea of what kind of political economy you want that are based upon your values.

Classism

Many people believe that people are poor because they are lazy or stupid.  Classism is however a theme which is gaining more attention. That we need not just changes in individual behaviour but societal changes, we consider what kind of utopias would make classism a thing of the past, while also looking to support working- and poverty-class people in the here and now.

Personal development

Self-help is a very popular theme at the moment, and I use various self-help exercises in a politicised, utopian way. Strap yourselves in, it’s going to be quite a ride!  We are capable of bending reality through transformational activities that strengthen us individually to do political work, boost our wellness, as well as helping us to redefine our concept of self, empowering us to achieve more than thought possible.

Combatting climate change

Alan Marshall’s “Ecotopia2021” (the picture on you see here of a future London is from that book) shows us that all many of ecotopias are possible. Through ecotopic methods we will consider what way of life will best combat climate change, what we need to do to achieve that, and what kind of beautiful futures we can create.

Hegemony

One can have all manner of cool little local projects and campaigns, but without addressing global issues of power we won’t bring the changes needed to our planet.  A lot of trainers (like myself) do valuable work which focusses on the horizontal level, while in this set of workshops we shall look at what levers of vertical power there are, and how we can change them.

Being a man

Whether we were assigned the sex of male at birth or not, we are influenced by societies perceptions of what it means to be male, and what our tasks are with regards to work and family.  In this set of political workshops we evaluate the contradictions that arise due to society’s demands on us, how we actually see ourselves, and how we can strengthen ourselves.
